About Coach

I grew up in rural West Virginia and moved to Chicago in 2014 after getting my Masters in Industrial & Labor Relations. In my day job, I manage HR systems for a global manufacturer. In my spare time, I run my own fitness management platform for data-driven athletes–FitMetrics.

Turning Point

Turning Point Growing up in a rural area, it was too difficult and expensive to join a sports team so most of my exercise was out in the woods. When I started college, I tried running, Taekwondo, and cycling, but nothing stuck. When I moved to Chicago after college, I really wanted to find an activity to fight off the side effects of a desk job, so I started in a bootcamp program with a friend. A year later, I switched to strength training and, in 2017, I finally joined a CrossFit gym. This style of training worked for me–it wasn’t easy, but it was rewarding and it showed results. As a member, I always enjoyed working with other athletes, especially those who were newer so that they could have a good experience too. In 2022, this turned into a great opportunity to coach at PXM.

Motivation & Specialty

Like many people, I want to get better as I age, not worse. There are many incredible ways to show your fitness, but getting good news at my annual physical, avoiding the diabetes and heart disease that has affected my family, and being happy with my reflection in the mirror motivate me to keep going. If I learn new skills and beat my old scores along the way, all the better. When I’m coaching, I’m there to help others level up their fitness and achieve their goals too.
