Yoga Instructor & Mobility Coach

Fun Fact!

The number one excuse I hear for people not wanting to try yoga is they feel they aren't flexible enough. This idea always makes me laugh a little, but truth be told, I can relate , because I was never even able to touch my toes until I started practicing yoga regularly. Today, I'm a yoga instructor so if there's hope for me, there's hope for you too!

About Coach

I attended my first yoga class in 2008 when I moved away from a Kung Fu & Tai Chi studio where I practiced martial arts, thinking yoga was the closest thing to Tai Chi, which I had come to love. About 15 minutes in, stumbling through my first Sun Salutation, I realized this ”yoga thing” was something else entirely. One thing was similar though - the breath! The breath I could relate to. After sweating quite a bit more than I had expected, I remember walking out of class feeling rejuvenated, saying to myself, “This Is What Life Is Supposed To Feel Like!” I quickly fell in love with Yoga and as my reverence for this mind & body practice called yoga developed, so did a burning desire to share what I had found, through becoming an instructor myself. I completed my 200 hour Yoga teacher training in Thailand through Candace Cabrera, creator and founder of yogabycandace in 2018. Following my yoga certification I began teaching full-time as an instructor for multiple fitness centers across the city, PXM being the very first one.

Turning Point

Before my career as a yoga instructor, I was in sales for 20 years. While I was good at sales, I never loved it. As a father of four boys, I've always told my son's, if they learn one thing from me I hope it would be for them to find something they love, and find a way to make it a career. As my passion for practicing yoga grew, I began to understand what I really wanted was to help people feel how I feel whenever I leave a great yoga class. Once I came to this realization I knew that in order to lead by example in the eyes of my boys, I had to take a leap of faith and pursue yoga teacher training. Choosing to become an instructor is one of the best life choices I've ever made. I have never been happier in my career and as a person.

Motivation & Specialty

Through refining my yoga education and by practicing various modalities over the years, I’ve learned yoga has a multitude of hidden benefits for every-”body”. Whether athletes are looking to deepen mobility and range of motion, to improve Olympic style lifts, practice active recovery, improve overall stability and coordination, or simply unwind and de-stress, there is a yoga flow that complements each and everyone.
