NASM CPT
I was born with a genetic impairment that impacts my body in various ways, primarily my hands because I can't bend my fingers to fully hold objects. My parents didn't let this stop me, and I grew up doing various forms of dance, including ballet, jazz and tap until I was about 12. I was craving a change and wanted to explore sports, and that's when I started playing basketball. I quickly learned how competitive I am and my love for sports took off. From middle school to high school, I played basketball, field hockey and ran track and field. Track and field were by far my favorite, and to this day I still love a good sprint! In college, I began to explore the weight room at my university fitness center and fell in love with the process of building a strong and powerful body. I joined PXM to continue this journey and was able to tap back into my competitive nature as a competitive Adaptive Athlete. With the support of my coach, Lamont, we learned how I could compete as a disabled athlete within the world of CrossFit, and learned how adaptable nearly every single movement in the gym is. Placing 7th in the world in my division in 2024 has been my greatest feat to date, but I know fitness is a lifelong journey and I am still just getting starting!
Growing up with the disability I have allowed me to make excuses for myself for a very long time. I found myself saying "Oh I can't do that" or "If I do that I'll get hurt, I shouldn't try". The reality is, I was holding myself back from what I was truly capable of. Working with my own personal trainer allowed me to see that I was the reason I wasn't seeing the progress I was craving, and that the only way I was going to reach my goals was if I kept showing up and trusted the process.
My motivation as a coach to help others see their fullest potential in themselves. I pride myself in meeting everyone where they are at in life right. I work in healthcare full time and have an acute understanding the pressures we face in our lives constantly. My goal for my clients is to carve out time where the sole focus is on YOU and meeting your goals. Your time spent with me will help you feel comfortable in a gym space and empower you to realize it is okay to make yourself a priority in your life.
